DEPOT is part of Cix, a mix of characteristic buildings in the new Utrecht city district of Merwede. In the former bicycle depot, an industrial building is being transformed into a market hall with hospitality, creative businesses, cultural events, and urban farming.
The characteristic industrial building is being transformed with respect for its original identity and complemented by new sustainable elements, including a circular rooftop extension. As part of the Merwede district, DEPOT will function as a central meeting place and lively anchor for the surrounding neighborhood.
Development started in 2018, with completion expected in 2027.
